With the special plenary session ’PEAT Talks’ we want to give the floor to the students, scientists, field workers and enterpreneurs who have a broader view or new idea on peatland ecosystems.
The ’PEAT Talks’ is the platform for ideas concerning the future of peatland and peat. Perhaps these ideas will sow the seeds for future research. Perhaps they are meant to raise awareness or start discussions.
The main difference with the scientific sessions and abstract submission is that the `PEAT Talks’ session doesn’t necessarily require to present your scientific research. You may build your presentation based on the questions raised by other researches or just based on a hypothesis you have come up.
Members of the scientific and organising committee will evaluate all applications submitted on time.
Evaluation is based on three main criteria:
– impact of the idea/concept/topic
– novelty of the idea/concept/topic
– presentation skills (previous experience is not required, will be evaluated based on your video presentation)
Remember, it is a contest so only limited number of speakers/applicants will receive the prominent spot to speak to the full audience of IPC2021.
The winners of the contest will be published on the Congress website after 20 March 2021. Applicants will be informed also via e-mail.
